WHAT IS A RUSSELL CONSULTATION?

A Russell Consultation is a 60 minute, one-to-one appointment, taken by one of our Senior Consultants. We hold these Consultations throughout the year, but we recommend that Consultations take place by the end of November, ahead of the 15th January UCAS deadline.

We also offer an extended, 90 minute, one-to-one Russell Consultation for those who would like to have feedback on their personal  statement.

IS A RUSSELL CONSULTATION RIGHT FOR ME?

If you are, or are thinking about, applying to one of the Russell Group Universities, you can definitely benefit from one of our Consultations.

Our Senior Consultants give honest, constructive feedback, and will help you to assess the strength of your application to a range of universities. They will be happy to talk to you about different courses which are on offer, and they are experienced in talking to students who are undecided as to the subject(s) they would like to pursue at university.

Whilst there is no minimum age for a Russell Consultation, we do not typically see students who are under the age of 14. This is to ensure that the motivation for the Consultation and applying to the Russell Group is that of the student.

If you are applying to Russell Group Universities alongside Oxbridge, we recommend that you book an Oxbridge Consultation instead of a Russell Consultation, as part of that meeting can include other Russell Group Universities.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN DURING MY RUSSELL CONSULTATION?

During the consultation, you will be assessed for your suitability for your chosen course, or shortlisted courses, and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. The Senior Consultant will be happy to address any concerns, and will offer constructive feedback and advice in terms of how you can take your application forward, and maximise your chances of success. They will talk to you about some universities that they believe would be a good match for you, as well as talking about the different entry requirements and procedures.

After your consultation, your Senior Consultant will send you written feedback summarising your session.

WHEN CAN I HAVE MY RUSSELL CONSULTATION?

Our Russell Consultations are run seven days a week, and can take place at our Surrey or London offices, or over Skype. We have Senior Consultants who can also cater for different time zones.

WHAT IS THE COST OF A RUSSELL CONSULTATION?

The cost of a 60 minute Russell Consultation is £150.  This includes the written feedback.

If you would like to book a Russell Consultation with a one-time review of your personal statement (90 minutes), the cost is £175. Should you choose this Consultation, we ask for personal statements to be sent to us via e-mail at least 48 hours before the Consultation is to take place. This is to ensure that your Senior Consultant has the opportunity to read and review your work ahead of your meeting.
